Multi-Function Control Display Units

Interface manufactures an array of custom control display units (CDUs) and industry-standard multi-function control display units (MCDUs). These products employ a full-color AMLCD along with integrated keyboard and modular electronics. The CDUs and MCDUs can be tailored to a customer's unique application by removing or adding electronic subassemblies. The products are suitable for both military and civil applications. The MCDU accommodates industry-standard (ARINC 739A-1) interfaces to support installation on various civil and military aircraft platforms, and we incorporate the latest AMLCD technology. This experience has enabled many military and commercial customers to take advantage of the enhanced visual quality of the flat panel display. The CDU and MCDU designs offer improved reliability, reduced weight, volume, power consumption, and depth.

These products are installed on military and commercial aircraft such as the P-3C, Super Puma, Airbus A340, MH-53, and various other platforms.

Multi-Function Control Display Unit

The Multi-Function Control Display Unit (MCDU) is hardware compliant to ARINC 739A-1. The MCDU is compatible with COTS operating systems (VxWorks®, Linux, Windows® XPe, etc.) and application software. The 5.7" color AMLCD and keypad lighting can be configured for NVIS operation. Standard interfaces include ARINC 429, RS-422/485, Ethernet, RS-232, and USB. Additional interfaces (MIL-STD-1553) can be supported by adding PC-104/PC-104+ modules. Also available are optional video capture circuit card and application software that support up to three video inputs (NTSC, PAL, RS-170), which can be displayed on the unit. The MCDU has non-volatile memory, Ethernet, and USB. The keypad and annunciator legends can be easily modified to custom-specific applications.

Control Display Unit; Radar +

Designed as a drop-in replacement for current CRT-based displays, this CDU provides a reduction in weight and envelope size, increased reliability, and a high degree of customization via software.

The CDU is designed to display radar and navigation data on a full-color, ruggedized, active matrix LCD (AMLCD) with LED backlight. An interactive touch-screen facilitates pilot interaction with the CDU. Standard interfaces include MIL-STD-1553, RS-422, Ethernet, USB, and discretes. Additional interfaces (ARINC-429) can be supported by adding PC-104/PC-104+ modules. Video inputs (NTSC, RS-170, DVI) and the ability to drive a second display are also available.
